Registration will be available on athletic.net beginning September 15.

Hello cross country teams and runners!

If you are interested in competing in one more cross country race this season — and perhaps qualify for JO Nationals — then mark your calendars for 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Beach Lake Trails at Chugiak High.

The USATF Alaska Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships are a national qualifier, and as such there are requirements to enter.

1. You must be a youth USATF member. Join at Alaska.usatf.org.
2. You must verify your age once in your membership profiles. Parents are responsible for this part.
3. Once your age verification has been completed, you must register for the meet by noon, Thursday, Oct. 8, on athletic.net - click here for the link.
4. There are four course distances based on ages.
8U: 2K
9-12: 3K
13-14: 4K
15-18: 5K
The top three finishers in each age group automatically qualify for the national JO championships in Lafayette, LA, on Dec. 12.
